The Department of Sustainability coordinates with Albany and UAlbany organizations to advocate for the importance of a sustainable community.

Carmen Munoz is a Senior from New York City, specifically from El Barrio/East Harlem. She is majoring in Public Health and minoring in Latin American & Caribbean Studies. Carmen is highly involved on her campus, holding multiple positions such as a Peer Educator for the Office of Sustainability, the Co-Chair of the Young Democratic Socialists of America- Ecological Socialistic Working Group, and the President of the newly emerging Public Health Club.

In addition to her academic and extracurricular commitments, Carmen has a variety of interests. She enjoys playing volleyball, dabbling in graphic design, and reading in her spare time. Carmen is passionate about making a difference on her campus; she is eagerly looking forward to implementing initiatives that are geared towards sustainability. Her focus is on interconnecting various spheres such as culture, politics, and academics to foster a more sustainable environment.
